Equity
Equity can be defined as recognizing that each person has different circumstances, thus individualizing the allocation of resources and opportunities to reach an equal outcome. While it may be easier to prescribe the same, cookie-cutter methods to empower individuals, the care devoted to researching truly effective interventions triumphs. Throughout undergrad, I involved myself in research innovations to address interventions created from a 'one-size fits all' mentality. True equity is taking a user-centered approach and uplifting individuals intrinsically rather than hoping that individual has the capabilities to fit the mold of a world that was not built for their success.
